How to Maximize Your Church’s Website

It is not unusual for church websites to be created by a volunteer effort from the congregation. Too much of the time, this person has only basic web-building abilities, with very little understanding of search engine optimization. Unfortunately, this means that ultimately, the website won’t live up to church’s hopes. Consider that the website isn’t just a web presence, but also a means of outreach for the church.

Church websites are usually designed very simply, with photos of church leaders and maybe a few pictures of services. Of course, contact information is also included. If the site’s creator is ambitious, they might even include the service schedule. Though it’s not a bad place to start, so much more could be done for your church’s website.

One of your greatest tools for outreach is your church’s website. This being so, while designing your site you should keep in mind the things that bring people to your church, rather than only posting schedules to keep the congregation up to date. Now, ask yourself: Who do I want drawn to this church?

Usually, the immediate answer is “everyone.” Unfortunately, no church can actually do that. You have to honestly portray the church as it is, and you have to consider the surrounding area. You can’t translate the word “Catholic” into “Universal” and expect that Evangelicals will convert. On that same frame of mind, a Mass oriented church shouldn’t imply that its services are Pentecostal-like, or that there are “sometimes” those kinds of services. Also, appeal to your local area. They, and people like them, are going to be the most comfortable driving through your neighborhood, whether it’s inner city or suburban.

Now that you know who you want to attract, use your website to speak to those people. What are they going to look for first in your church? Chances are, they’re going to look for clues to what your services are like. If your church celebrates Mass, show photos and videos of these services. If you have faith healing and dancing in the aisles, display that. Sermon transcripts are also useful so people can see your typical messages.

Other considerations include child care, community service, wedding and funeral services, what it takes to join, teen groups and any other aspect of your church you can think of. Make a menu on your first page, and create a different page for each of these services. The essential idea behind making a good website for your church is the same as any other—make it easy for the curious visitor to find out what they want to know.

Sifting through the Internet for a reliable resource on non denominational church in Port Charlotte just got easier!

Keeping Intruders Out – Call Your Local Locksmith

Most rural crime comes from home invasion and breaking into cars to steal property. Professional locksmiths are your go-to expert to tighten up security in and around your home. Recent studies are showing that while violent crime is down, non-contact crime is up. Professional security experts tell us that having strong locks on home entry points and cars is the primary deterrent to theft.

Your locksmith will explain options within your budget. Call your local locksmith to come out to your home. They’ll do a security check. If budget is a concern, many reasonable locks will provide needed security.

You must actually use the locks you have to keep crooks from stealing your stuff. No surprise, police departments across the country say that the majority of thefts come about because people don’t lock their cars and houses. Locksmiths will examine, advise, install lock, but it’s all for naught if you don’t use them.

Your locksmith will likely recommend a solid wood door, as they aren’t easily broken down. Strong hidden or non-removable hinges are the most secure, so they may recommend these. While not the locksmith’s area, they’ll all tell you to add lights way above your entry points. Lights placed high, where bulbs aren’t easily taken out add extra security. Motion lights eliminate having bright lights disturbing sleep.

Locksmiths check your door’s strike plates to see if they have long screws ensuring doors aren’t easily kicked in. Locksmith will check for a deadbolt, as these are the most safe. There are variable degrees of security in deadbolt locks. The best have rotating cylinder guards. The deadbolt should jut at least one inch. You could explore vertical deadbolts or rim locks. These offer double locks that attach to the door jam. With the proper class of steel, these can be nearly impossible to break. Your locksmith will clarify all your security risks; check all your windows to recommend good security solutions regardless of window type.

The Many Benefits of Joining a Church

Many people who join churches do so for many different reasons. There are benefits to attending a church such as friendships and support. Research suggests that people who attend a religious organization, have strong support systems and do not pursue psychological help as much as people who do not attend.

You can find acceptance and a place where you feel welcome when you belong to a church. Your church could be an extension of your family. It could be a good place to raise your children and congregate with people of like faith. Research also suggests that people who pray regularly are healthier and have lower blood pressure than their secular counterparts.

A church is a good place to find friendship. As you get involved in your church, you will get to meet people and start interacting with them outside of church activities into more relational setting. Many people find value in their church. They feel needed in some way as they participate in the activities of their church. Value is found when people find a place to contribute towards the good of the body of the church.

Volunteering your time to help clean the church or perform light maintenance also stretches your skills and shows your children the benefit of giving of one’s time. Another positive reason to join church is for personal growth. Leading a small group study or teaching at Sunday school are both good examples of getting out of your comfort join and learning how to speak in front of people and teaching children.

When you join together weekly and sing, it can give a family a sense of spirituality rarely found at school, work or in the secular communities where we live. Listening to sound moral uplifting guidance once a week is very beneficial to anyone and helps to relieve the stresses we find ourselves in at home, work, or at school. Taking your family to church once a week also establishes that time with the family as a positive ritual. Spending time with your family and solidifying your family as a strong unit rather than separating all weekend and going off and doing your own thing.

You don’t have to spend hours on the Web looking for information about christian church in Port Charlotte.
